Left Ruitelan around 7am and walked slowly through the town and up the road. After a km or so the way left the road and then started a long steep climb up to La Faba where a neat newish cafe provided a welcome coffee and tortilla for breakfast.
After that it was all up, though not as steep, to OCebreiro where a bus load of tourists were strolling up the road to the church.
After OCebreiro more climbing then a descent to Liñares where I bought a sandwich for lunch. Then up to Hospital de la Condesa where the alburgue was full but suggested only a few more km to Alto de Poio. The last 500m was probably the steepest section of the entire walk. I saw on the path profile that after this climb the way is essentially all downhill. Altitude was then about 1330m and I think it was around 700m at the start of the day.
